Homework update for Week 8 (Term 2)
What a great (but cold) day we had on Tuesday for our Cross Country. I have created a form to collect some of your reflections about cross country. Click on this link to fill in the form. Don't forget to leave your name so I know who has responded.
Last Homework for Term 1 - Due on Tuesday, 15th April
Celebrate our Term 1 Learning
It’s coming up to
the end of term and we need to let everybody know how much work we have done
and how much learning has taken place.
The Task: Create a single page of an iBook that shows one of
the things that we have learned this term as part of our inquiry work. Some people are working alone and some are
working with partners. We talked about
this as a group and we all decided that this could be a:
·
Poster – this A3 poster uses diagrams, pictures and words
to explain what we have learned
·
Document – using either Word or Pages this document will be
written as an informational report and will explain what we have learned
·
Song – create a song that tells us something that we have
learned. You can create a song as a
stand-alone piece of work or you can use your song on somebody else’s work.
WILF: this work is being done for an audience other than me. This work is going to be shared with parents,
the other students at Maungaraki School, and hopefully other teachers and
students through the blog. That means
your work needs to be:
·
Beautiful – we want people to see what awesome work we can
create
·
Informational – we want people to see how smart we are and how
much we have learned
·
Accurate – we want people to see that we take our time when
presenting work
·
DONE ON TIME – we don’t want to be waiting for one persons work,
this is a class project!!!
When your work is
finished…We discussed what to do with our work and decided that the best way to
get this out to other people was through the creation of an iBook. Each project will be either photographed (in
the case of the poster) or copied onto a page of an iBook. The book will then be sent to parents for
them to have a look.
In order for this
to happen before the end of the term, your work needs to be done by
Tuesday the 15th
of April.
